Hoover Portapower questions

I just ordered a Hoover Commercial Portapower as I wanted one for the collection.

Two questions:

1- On the bags, I know the Portapower comes with a reusable cloth bag. You can get the type N disposable paper bags but I've heard they don't filter very well.

Would it be possible to just layer the paper bag inside of the reusable cloth bag, or would it not fit? My thinking is the cloth bag would catch any fine dust that got through the paper bag.

2- I'm thinking about ordering the Portapack Carrying bag to go with it. I've noticed all of the stock pictures have "Commercial Portapack" embroidered on the side of it. But others I've seen just have the Hoover logo.

How can I make sure what I'm buying has the full embroidered logo? Or do they actually all only have the Hoover logo?

1. Yeah the N bags are a single ply and don't filter well
2. No the bag adapter won't fit in place with the cloth bag in place.


I suppose if you wanted better filtration it wouldn't be too hard to do. They attach to the adapter similarly to the Type C or even F&G bags you slide the bag onto a stub and then secure it with a band. Maybe Hoover type I would be a good fit? just cut off the cardboard collar and attach it to the stub

Yes, actually I have heard someone here, I think Performance Reviews, saying that people had been using the Hoover I bags from the Platinum Canister in these. I find Hoover's HEPA bags in general to be crazily overpriced, so I may try the EnviroCare HEPA version of it though.


Does anyone have the Portapack carrying bag and can confirm if it says "Portapack Commercial" or is it only the Hoover logo on it?
