I remember seeing these in different posts and have always wanted one. Well I stopped at Goodwill this morning and look what I found. I only saw the front and knew exactly what it was. I grabbed it and ran to the register. It was $13.99. It's complete with attachments.

I had one of these a few (more like 7) years ago. It had no attachments or anything but I got it from a thrift store and only used it occasionally since it took the older Hoover style tools and I didn't have any of those.

Hoover Portable needs saving...

Not operational, needs some TLC. Also there is no shipping option so for LA area Hoover lovers only.
I'm back in NYC until summer.

I have two Portables. Check under the hood by the latch. Hoover stamped dates on quite a few of them. I was hunting on EBay for bags and one person was selling a "well used" one BUT with six packages of NOS Hoover J bags with it! I now have a "spare" portable, and six packages for less then some people were selling bags.
Make sure yours has the gasket under the hood where the intake meets the bag. These are great machines!

Very Good machine..

The only fault with one to me, is the hose is too short, but thats not a terrible thing, really good suction.
