2 Days Later

Chris,

I'm still surprised how the carpet feels 2 days after cleaning it. With the Bissell, and even the Kirby shampoo method, the carpet seemed to be stiff and matted by now. My carpet on the stairs looks just like it did 2 years ago when it was brand new, very soft and plush. This cleaner completely removed a few spots and the dull dirty paths in the high traffic areas. This thing blows the Bissell out of the water, and leaves the carpets just slightly damp. Mine were dry in about 2 to 2.5 hours.

It is an expensive machine, but the Warranty and performance vs the other options out there justify it. I thought about a rug doctor, but I just decided that it was a bit heavy duty for my needs. I keep a pretty clean house, and I thought it was overkill.

My take on Bissell vs. Hoover...

I used the Bissell ProHeat 2X and I own a Hoover Dual V Widepath. I was at my cousins for the week and had to use the Bissell because of the dogs and a small stain. The Bissell hardly got the stains out, got the carpets really wet, didn't get the carpets wet at all half way through with a full tank of solution, sucked up the littlest piss of water, and constantly clog with carpet fibers. The Hoover never has those problems. God am I glad I didn't purchase the Bissell instead of the Hoover.

I wonder if the Platinum will outclean a Rug Doctor? If it does, I'll get the Platinum machines as rental units & for carpet cleaning business.

Brush Motor

Also thought I would note that the brush motor is slow start, so it never jerks to life. I suppose this is good, due to the fact that there is a lot of bristles contacting the carpet at one time with the dual scrubbing actions. Would probably rip the gearbox / cogged belt to shreads after a while.
