Congratulations on your find! Its a rare one indeed! I have one that i bought at a swap meet in San Diego. Mine was thought to be from 1916. Most of my vacuums are in storage right now so i can't check the name plate just yet but on looking at the pic of your name plate i see the dates 1917. That may be the age of yours. Any Hoover experts want to guess? Here is a picture of mine.

full monty

The bag is not original and had a large tear towards the top. After vacuuming the bag inside and out, I sewed a straight seam across the top to get rid of the tear. The bag now has two seams across the top which makes it look kind of puckered. David Swingette may have something to say about this LOL but i used a "wire hanger" as a bag hook. It works!!

Donald...

I could not resist posting pics of my model N. Congratulations on finding one so complete. It appears that you have the original bag on yours and an intact bumper. I could not tell if it had the original switch or not. Mine is minus the original cord, bag, and bumper. The rest is intact and it works like a charm.

The model N was Hoover's first regular size cleaner. It was built from 1916-1919. One of the first clues to its age is that it is built in New Berlin. That was the former name of North Canton which was changed in 1919. Yours like mine is a later one. The earlier N's had fan chambers that were sort of sunken and gave them a different look. Hoover marketed the large Senior models at this time. They were nearly 40 pounds. Then they made the smaller version of the Senior called the Junior which was just 10 inches wide but extremely heavy. Then down the price ladder was the "Special" model. This is not to be confused with the rebuilt models. The "Special" model N was brand new and would in time become the standard sized Hoover. Then you had the "Baby" model C and even a "Friction Drive" Baby that used the front wheels to drive the brush roll. This was the cheapest Hoover cleaner. The other models save the Special model N and the baby were soon discontinued. The 102 replaced the Special model N in 1919 and it featured the previous Robbins and Meyers motors as well as the new Hoover made electric motor.

I hope some of this information helps you. Again Congrats on the great find!
