I know that there are some rare Hoovers out there but I never bothered to ask myself the question of how rare my Hoover model 706 actually is. I have seen four or five around vacuumland but that doesn't exactly answer my question of how rare the model 706 is. I want to know how many were actually made. I also want to know how to find the year my 706 was built and what number it was off of the line.

If you call John Gregory at Gregory's Sweeper Central in PA, he is the Hoover Expert and Guru. He'll tell you all about it. 570-343-2020 His shop opens at 10:30 am.

I've learned so much from him. Talk about knowledge, he can decipher serial numbers and has the dates/production for all the Hoovrahs.

The Hoover Convertible, model 706 was made from 1970 to 1971. One of the color descriptions, because of the bag, is gold. The book didn't have the exact number of models. But, it is considered to be one of the more rare Convertible models. One of the most rare would be the model 707 A..made only a few days for Spiegle, in baby blue.

I just got off the phone with Tom A. in N. Canton. The specs for that machine are: Production was from September 18, 1970 until March 25, 1971. They only made a mere 63, 500 or 501. Now, you see how rare they are as, how many are left?
Feel free to add this info to you own Hoover Ledger.
