Hey everyone.. I was wondering if anyone out there has a Hoover Convertible model 69 that they would part with. I have no convertibles in my collection and this is my most favorite one. Let me know !! :)

You can still see them on eBay from time to time...I've been looking for the right one for a while! I want it because of the cool model number (LOL), as well as the colors, styling, and the fact that I have the preceding Model 68. I find the rare one first, and don't see the more common one at all, go figure!

Model 69

Made from 11/20/61 to 12/7/64 in Neptune green and pearl white with silver trim.
No worries, with that 3+ year production run there were 515,394 made.

I am sure there are still a few left to be had

ebay model 69: for the $99 BIN. i imagine most buyers might want some nice tight closeups of the machine, so as to see EXACTLY the condition of the paint.

Ebay model 69

mixer..

It looks okay but the bag looks a little rough and that scratch by the Hoover logo.. not sure about $99

Where Are You'll Getting 99.00bin?

Mixer's 69 is a starting bid of 9.99 and 20.00 shipping there is no bin on it for 99.00

if you click on the revisions link on an ebay listing, you can see changes that have been made. the BIN on this item, as of now, has been removed.

I FOUND ONE

I'm pleased to announce that someone responded to my post on here and they are sending me a Hoover 69! I'm sooo excited. A special thanks goes to the great guy that is sending it for me :) !!!!!!!

yes, seamus. and here was *ignunt* me suggesting that the photos were inadequate! my goodness! do note that a zero feedback bidder has helped the bidding along quite briskly!

I guess it's time to dust off a convertible and take it's pic for ebay! Who knew there are people out there willing to pay upwards of $200.00 for one! Say cheese girls!

high bidder stupidity

Derreck:
I'm so glad I talked you out of bidding on that crappy old Hoover 69.

Remember laughing about morons like the high bidder on this auction, at the VCCC gathering in Chicago a couple weeks ago? Charlie W. led the round of laughter at the stupidity of people with more money than brains, spending a fortune for the junk on eBay.

The high bidder on this auction (with 0 feedback) can't be a club member. I've not met any club members who were that stupid. If she IS a club member, we'll all have to gang slap her (or revoke her membership).

After the St. Louis convention, many people left vacuums in the meeting room. The hotel threw away better convertibles than the one on eBay. Wait until the Omaha convention, and see what kind of stuff there is.

Or, at the St. Louis mini meet (gathering) of the VCCC the first weekend in December. See what people bring to that one. But don't bid on cootie-infested horrible junk that opportunists like to put up for auction.

Ebay stupidity

Tom,,

I totally agree with you. I'm really glad I waited and did not bid on the model 69 listed on ebay. What a RIPOFF! Its a total shame that vacuum collecters have resorted to paying exorbitant prices for old vacuum cleaners rather than doing favors and trading machines among collectors. I personally would much rather get a machine that someone wants to give, so that I have a story to go along with that machine such as "I got that machine from ____________ and this is how I got it", as opposed to "I bought that machine off of ebay and paid $xxxx .. I can't believe I paid that much for it." Paying high dollars for old vacuum cleaners just takes the fun out of collecting.

I see.....

the same 2 are fighting it out over a 707 the seller has listed as well!- one thing is that the correct manual for it(707)? It looks more 60s than 70s lol

well first of all, not all vacuum enthusiasts are as *well connected* as others, so many have to depend on alternatives. like eBay. im an eBay believer. as for selling, its the american way! if someone wants to give me 20 bucks for a stick of gum, who am i to say no? on the other hand, i WILL NOT let myself get into a bidding war with a zero-feedback bidder! as matter of fact, i exclude zero-feedback bidders from MY auctions. someone with zero-feedback bidding on multiple high-dollar auctions could suggest a deadbeat.
