Hoover Junior in the USA

Would you be able to simply change the plug on a Hoover Junior and have it work in America, or would you have to do something to it? I saw a Junior for sale on eBay (USA) and am wondering if I could import an old Junior to the US without messing with it too much.

You can. Just plug it into a step-down voltage transformer box. They are not very expensive. About $85 or so. You want one with double the wattage of the vacuum you are running. But they aren't that expensive so you can just buy a big wattage one and not have to worry.

I dont think you rightly know what you’re speaking about. The Junior was also sold in the USA market under the 120V standard US motor/current. That machine on eBay clearly shows in the pictures 120V.

You cannot change the plug on a UK machine and just expect it work. You would need to change out the motor for a USA voltage motor.

You will need a step down transformer or you risk burning up the vacuum plug cables and your house currant and fuse panel so NO !!

This listing shows the model sticker, and it says 120v. Is this the one you're talking about?

Otherwise, the rest of them are in the UK, and will need 240v. Either using a step-up transformer like Husky suggested, or just wire up a 240v outlet in your home. Not that difficult.

I didn't know they were available in the USA

I have one of those, it was a gift from a friend.

They were made in the UK and sold in the US.
The US version is 120 V, it take a C bag.
One of these days I'll find the attachment set for it.
