a good condition hoover will be worth a bit to a collector one day as they are not made cheaply like modern machines. dysons and vax are all plastic and break more often hence why i dont have any.

I have a Hoover Jr-beleive its 115-similar to the machine shown-agreed-this little guy is BETTER than Orecks and other compact vacuums-like how its METAL and not plastic like the others.Would an Oreck or other plastic compact uprights still be running and usable as these Hoovers are 50-60 yrs from now?I don't have tools and the hose for mine.

hi tolivac. i have seen the 115 model you have over there. slightly different colour to ours here but pretty much the same. i doubt any orecks or dysons will be running for as long as these guys. there might be a few running in years time but probably not with the same motor it had when it left the factory. you cant beat good quality and craftsmanship.

great vacs chestermike. i hope to one day come across a real nice example of the 1224. if i hadnt been out the other night i probably would have won the matching dustette for the 1224.

i also love the bananna shape bags. i converted mine to take a paper bag inside original so it can always stay clean without having to shake bag. has not decreased suction whatsoever.
