Here's the Hoover Air upright family. I think they're all really nice! Because of its size, and true 'Air' lightness, the original is still probably my favorite (it's my modern-day Dirt Devil Broom Vac!). The Air Steerable is a great solution to problems the original didn't have (a swivel head, and a one-piece hose, instead of two). The Air Pro would be the best model, but the cyclone pack is flawed, and I see Hoover seeing problems with them down the road.
Hoover was pleasantly surprised by how well-received the original model was, and rolled with it! They all share a set of modern positives:
<ul>
<li><span style="font-size: 14px;">They do a great job on carpets, and hard floors (love that versatility!). </span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 14px;">They have attachments on-board, capable of cleaning full-flights of stairs. </span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 14px;">They're low-profile and maneuverable. </span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 14px;">They're quiet. </span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 14px;">They all feature 30-ft. cords!</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 14px;">They're all multi-cyclonic, and have sealed filtration systems (no dust leaks on these modern machines!).</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 14px;">They have lifetime belts, and filters.</span></li>
</ul>
Does anyone else have experience with these Hoover Airs, or their Vax equivalents? I think they're a lot of fun!
