Can somebody please post some detailed pictures of their Hoover grease fittings so I can attempt to make my own? I have access to a lathe and mill and could probably make a few more if this goes well. What angle do the four little holes come out at on the part in the first picture? Where are the holes for the greasing agitator bearings in the second picture?

Any help is appreciated.

Here are some photos of my Hoover grease gun, which I inherited when I took over the store from the previous owner, who had been a self-servicing Hoover dealer from the late 1940s.

It looks like the grease gun was an off the shelf product from Stewart-Warner, with a (now worn down and stripped out) screw type feed as opposed to today's more common pump type grease guns.

The special Hoover bit is in 5 pieces. The first two are the fitting for agitator bearings and an adapter bushing to mate that to the body of the grease gun. Then screwed onto the 1/4-20 stud protruding from that is the motor bearing adaptor, and finally a dust cover with a 1/4-20 machine screw to hold it on.

The grease holes are drilled straight through.

This thing used to get a lot more use, but now sadly sits in the "forgotten tools" cabinet most of the time, watching us work on vacuums that won't last as long as the greasing interval on an old Hoover.

Owen pretty much covered the design. I bought my set NOS from an old vac shop that happened to have one on the shelf he did not need. Found another brush roll end at a vac shop closing sale. Very handy tools, although you can accomplish the work quite easily with a syringe and a high quality automotive grease.

This has been a really nice tool to have

I was given this in probably 2006 before I even knew what it was from a vacuum store going out of business.
Mine is just slightly different than Owen’s. The tips are obviously the same.

I have a Hoover grease gun, and have used several over the years. I've not once seen the dust cover for the thing, and the gun I have and others I've used more recently have a solid nice on the end of the motor bearing adapter, so I assume those never had the cover?
