And now, in English!

Hi, does any one know how much this cleaner would fetch?

"and his it rear cleaner" I cannot begin to think what you mean there, but I could come up with several ribald comments.

I don't want to put it on ebay and it go for peanuts.

Presumably you are no longer selling your collection as this cleaner seems to be shown in the pictures for that.

There is a simple answer, two of them actually. Put it on at a starting price which is the minimum you would like or set a reserve at the same level.

Add to that a Buy It Now Price set at the amount you would like to achieve.

Its a rare cleaner and appears to be in good condition, it COULD do well. But remember, times are hard at the moment, do not set unrealistic figures, or people will only laugh and move on.

And now, in English!

that was English he made a few spelling mistakes but you could still understand the sentence, why are people so stuck up about there grammar on here, when people type fast or they are tired they make simple mistakes i do them all the time and so dose everyone in this world, if you can understand the sentence then its fine at least he dnt tlk lk ths

Proofread your posts before hitting send, people.

Why is thoughtful adherence to grammar important for every young lady and gentleman desiring a bright future, including those of mature age?

-Because bad grammar and spelling indicate a lazy intellect that does not care about the impression left behind. This is excusable only in the specially challenged.
-Because Social Interaction conventions support and strengthen clear communications and business networking around the world including translations between languages.
-Because 8 spelling mistakes in a 29 word run-on sentence with no punctuation and capitalization is not "a few spelling mistakes". It is a 27% error rate.
An inadvertent typo or two is common for everyone and overlook-able but when the paragraph is scattered with deliberate contractions of words, lack of attention to punctuation and syntax and sloppy texting on cell phones and tablets, it is wincing painful to decipher. That's what Spell Check is for and folks even ignore its prompts. I cannot seriously take the time to reply to appallingly composed posts like this.

The problem is that this laissez faire attitude spills over into newspaper editorials and stories, school work, term papers and most alarmingly, job resumes.

In my line of work we receive hundreds of resumes from hopefuls. The percentage of essentially unreadable applications riddled with 'Nuspeak' has risen almost to the 30% mark. We used to set them aside in a pile for coffee room amusement but the file tray became a shallow box that became an unmanageable carton set next to the shredder. These people are never called in for interviews but sent a form letter suggesting that they apply elsewhere...and Good Luck in your future prospects.

im all for good grammar

i believe good grammar is a good thing to but when im out of a situation such as school where you have to uses the correct spelling and grammar, i just slip up some times and dont think its important as long as people can under stand what your saying im ok with it

Green pencil correction because blue doesn't show up wel

"I'M all for good grammar (period)

I believe good grammar is a good thing TOO but when I'M AWAY FROM a situation such as school (comma) where you have to USE the correct spelling and grammar, I just slip up SOMETIMES and DON'T think IT'S important  (period) AS long as people can UNDERSTAND what YOU'RE saying I'M ok with it (period)<span style="color: #000000;">"</span>

<span style="color: #000000;">"</span><a name="start_19467.216007">as long as people can under stand what your saying" But you are not saying or speaking out loud - you are writing/texting visually. This many errors is just plain painful to old eyes that weep for the future of young citizens.</a>

This is exactly the type of TwitterFace 'quicktext' language abuse a resolved and devoted group of concerned people are on a gentle ongoing campaign to curtail severely on this superior internationally renowned and valued hobbyist discussion website.

If you are ok with it and don't care about the impression you make then others won't care either.

But I do care.

<span style="color: #000000;">Back in the misty moisty ancient past of my schooldays teachers made sure we knew why and how to spell and punctuate within the rules of grammar by the age of 9 or 10. School compositions and writing assignments would be returned graded for content but covered in blue pencil corrections as warranted...by a teacher who cared.

hi excuse me let me get this right. this site is called vacuumland! not a school. homework site. or take the p...s out people site for god sake some u on here want to a get life. i come on here to put my cleaners. on not to be ripped to peaces. i come from the best city in the country nottingham thats our we are. dont get me wrong there is some good people on here. i hav spoke to some nice guys. you want to give some of us a break. do what u come on here to do show your cleaners off. and not act or beheave like fish wifes...! WHAT THE POINT IN HAVIN A NICE COLLECTION IF YOU CANT SHEA IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS

WHAT THE POINT IN HAVIN A NICE COLLECTION IF YOU CANT SHEA I

still as rude as ever, Mick.

The point of having a nice collection would really only be to please yourself, I would've thought. Yes, it's nice to share these things with friends, but at the end of the day you're only really pleasing you.

Also, poor grammar caused by laziness is just plain rude. Michael, I don't care if you type fast and make a few mistakes - don't. It's pure laziness and completely shows how much thought and effort you're willing to put in for other people.

I totally agree with Dave on this one - good grammar costs NOTHING.

I could not make head nor tail of what the OP was saying in the initial post nor could I understand his later one either.

I am aware that not everybody has great knowledge or skills when it comes to English, however I don't believe people could be so inane as to think writing as "hooversrus2012" does is acceptable when I presume you know better.

Yes; this is Vacuum Land and not school, but why should that stop you using coherent grammar?

Would you apply for a job and write in the "additional information" box with the same level of grammar you use here? You may well, but you'd find the employer would be exasperated after the first sentence (if you indeed used punctuation marks) and toss it in the bin.

I am not trying to insult you or anybody for that matter, but it really infuriates me to see people who have perfectly good knowledge of what is and is not good grammar putting no thought into their posts at all.

I'm not looking for everybody to write with 100% perfection, but a little care and attention to punctuation marks and spelling wouldn't go amiss.

yes you can read it

quit being a grammar snob, everyone could clearly read and understand what the initial post said, i don't see what all this fuss over a few spelling mistakes, get over it, yes in certain situations correct grammar is a must, however on here that shouldn't be the case.

"everyone could clearly read and understand what the initial post said" So why did others (before me) bring up the subject? It is obviously something that others find irritating, not just me.

I don't see why people can't type with better grammar (which does not take any longer to type if you're used to it; as I am), it just seems nonsensical to me.

Also, compared to most posters on VL poor grammar IS incongruous, surely you can see that and therefore make an effort to blend in?

Dear Kirbylover michael and others who think otherwise.

This is NOT nor has it ever been a Facebook/Twitter/Text-speak style discussion website.

The majority prefer to discourse in readable sentences showing at least a working knowledge of conversational  standards.

The occasional typo is natural and forgivable of course.

Fair notice has been served in the past as frequently as necessary and will be insisted on in the future.

Thank you to those who agree.
