Hoover FloorMATE H3060

I found one on the curb! It even came with the tool caddy & all tools.

The FloorMate was clogged with dog hair & leaks a bit of water from the clean solution tank.

It says "Foor Mate SpinScrub 801" Looks like Hoover forgot to put the "L" in FloorMate.

I still need to clean the tools; & the FloorMate still has dog hair on he suction duct.

How can I get rid of the smell of dog feces? The recovery tank reeks of dog feces.

Here's my other H3060 (now my mother's)

This one dates 0310 (March 2010) & the curbside one dates 0305 (March 2005)

I can't believe both FloorMate H3060s manufacturing dates were in March!

Is it OK to boil water for floor washing? Or would I ruin the tank & unit?

The only thing I know is the hot water will remove tough grease the SpinScrub brushes can't; the bristles are too soft.

Sometimes I use either the Lux B8 (triple brush) or Turbotool rug washer (air powered shampooer/polisher) for tough scrubbing jobs, then vacuum the scrub water with the FloorMate.

When I need to remove scuff marks or put on floor wax/finish (Pledge) I scrub with the B8 or rug washer with "scrubby" pad; but I only have the black shampoo brush & am looking for the tan brush for the rug washer.

I like my floormate works great but, I think it takes longer then using a mop so I don't use it to clean my floors evertime.

nice to see a thread bringing up the Floor-Mate

have been searching the web for one of those, but apart from some very rare and overpriced auctions far away in the UK not willing to ship continentally I could not find anything on that unit locally.

I am positive that there are some (rare) 230 V versions around. Is anyone here willing to trade?
Switzerland? UK? Ireland?
I would be more than pleased to get one of those, on the other hand I would not be willing to pay a 3-digit price for posting it to here (such as was the case with that Hoover Guardsman one of our members here was willing to sell. = 156,- bucks for P&P is just to much for me).

So: Who wants to get rid of his/her 230 volts Floormate?

thanks so much for the offer, but I have to decline I'm afraid.
Although Germany has no Floormates, several other countries around do have them. (My sister lives close to France, so some nice "lavage/brossage en aspirant" (washing/scrubbing while vacuuming) might come my way...
So I guess it is easier to get one here (-> cheaper p&p and 230 v right away).

Of course, the tools would be nice and are nowhere to be had (most countries sell the H3000, some stock the H3060 and the cordless one - but all come w/o tools).

Should I get one some day I might get the tools separately from the US.

There is some Lavor website, but to be honest, it must be the Hoover for me.
Even the British "VAX" wouldn't do, though it is a Hoover, just rebadged.

I have got that old 70s Senior upright of the Shake-N-Vac commercial (in its original MUSTARD greenish/yellowish glory and wih its perforated vinyl bag) and a Hoover is just a Hoover (along with all its typical whining and whirling gadgetry). I just want to see that red round badge on it with that slanting H.
This is probably due to some mental illness I had been befallen with a time ago, called neurotic collectorism. ;-)))


Thanks but no thanks. If I was to clean floors per se I would just grab a bucket and a mop. But I want to be playing with technology icons to perpetuate invention races of all ages for worlds of all ages way beyond our own. (When water and electricity through coal have long gone).
Long live spinscrub technology, long live unecessary gadgetry just for the sake of it ;-)

I WILL get the H3060 in 230 volts by Hoover with a Hoover badge, along with all the tools or I will get none.
Period. (I have taken the freedom of choosing this fate). It WILL be finding its new way home (to a good and caring home, I promise).
