Hey everyone. I have a simple question: When was the Hoover Windtunnel self propelled model U6430 introduced in the US?

Thanks.

The Green One?

The oldest example I've come across was from 1998. The Windunnel line began in 1997, but I've never found a good answer for what was the absolute first model released. The U6430 was at least one of the first, and was well into production by 1998.

According to Google the U6430 is the Windtunnel Ultra, with the onboard tools at the top behind the clear visor and self propelled.

I have the U6425-900 myself, which is a smaller model number, but mine is the base model. Only the self propelled feature, no onboard tool rack and is slightly shorter.

It would take a lot of work, but if someone wants a few hours to kill, I think if you comb newspapers.com (trial required) you might be able to find old newspaper ads for each WindTunnel and then just sort them by whatever date the newspaper that they appear in was published from oldest to newest.

My landlady's green model, which is likely a bit early I always thought we got it at Kmart 97-98, replaced here Concept 1, I could easily check #s on that

Thanks for the info, everyone. Yes, you guessed it right; I am asking about the green Windtunnel.

I bought a part which was taken from one of these Hoovers and I was wondering just how old it could be.

1998-2016 RIP?

So Hoover has stopped making this vacuum several times and then started again .
So the real question is when is Hoover actually going to discontinue this vacuum?
