Here I have a lovely Hoover Elite ll in a really great blue colour.

Got this (along with all my other US Elites) from eBay US.

It is in pretty good condition for its age and cleaned up very well...It is all original and runs great.

Here are some before and after.

Thanks for reading, Alex.

Amd finally

Here is a little glamour shot of both my Elite ll cleaners of this style together.

I only have one transformer and socket so I could only run one at once, so I took th pictures of each running separately and then cut the picture together, I hope it is not too noticeable!

Anyway, here you go...Don't they look pretty?! 😍😍

Elite

Nice Hoover that cleaned up well. The condition of bristles show it to be low milage.
These were a good choice here in their price range. After all it was still a 'real'Hoover. One of the common problems we saw was early models put together by customer with bag remaining flat and not folding top and bottom properly as your is.

Looks NEW!

Great work! Love the soft-bagged Elites. The lower the amps, the better! Dual brush agitator is a must. Makes it so easy to push, and the performance is incredible. Enjoy!

Mpbyrd - Thanks, love your collection there! Unfortunately for me, I can't get them out of bins or dirt cheap...They cost me a FORTUNE! Lol.

Henrydreyfuss - They sure are great machines, not wuite as good as our Turbomasters though, I do love them though, the soft bag ones have such a modern but reto look about them, I can't describe it, I just love em! Lol...Definitely right about the double row brushroll, makes a difference in performance and movability.

Rugsucker - Indeed it is, long before things went down hill! I have seen a few Elites on eBay in the past with the bags left unfolded to correspond with the bag slides...Are people actually that thick?!!

Gottahaveahoove - Thanks, I tend to put a lot of work into these old vacs, probably more than I should bother with! 😂👌🏻

Alex,

Just curious: what kind of voltage transformer are you using? Does it endanger the functioning and life of the 120volt motors in these vacuums? Also, is there any danger of overheating the transformer if you use your Elite for a long stretch of time - 30 minutes for example?

I may one day find myself moving to a 240volt country and it would be good to know if I can bring my much-loved North American vacuums with me.

It is an industrial 3.3KVA building site transformer that they use to drop the power from 240v to 120v for the safety of power tools etc.

Now 3.3KVA will support 1500w, which is 12amps, so the Elites are fine running on it and I have used them for long periods of time, with no problems, the transformer only gets warm, never hot.

I assume they are running at full speed, always sound like they are to me.

If there was any problem with there being an overload or it over heats, the transformer would trip out...In that case, you would press the reset switch.

Sorry, what I meant was, it has a limited time usage of 3.3KVA (3300watts) which is 5 minutes, but will run on 1.6 KVA continuously, which is 1600w, so it will run a 12amp US vacuum cleaner, no problem, or two 5amp machines, or a 5amp and a 7amp machine, unfortunately, I can only run one at a time as I only have one US socket attached to my transformer, lol.
