Hey guys, my name is Brandon i just recently joined Vacuumland. I recently acquired a Hoover Elite II Encore Supreme. I was curious on some tips onto how to wash the bag? I have yet taken the vacuum all apart but i plan on doing so and cleaning the entire machine. Any other tips too on cleaning the machine would be much appreciated thanks guys!!

Bag

I'm not sure but once bag is off flip it inside out. I'd pre vacuum it get most debri off. I would throw in washer delicate mode and once out of washer flip correct way and air dry.
Get a box cutter cut all the hair off of brush roll. I'm not sure how deep you want to clean to your vacuum.
I detach my hoses from machine fill with water. I holds both ends of the and let water fill up. I empty hose each end twice. I make sure hose is cleaned and not clogged.

Hi Brandon,
There are so many tips regarding cleaning & polishing; the best one is to use caution.

Not all plastics react favourably to chemicals in household cleaning products. Even then, some which work for others, may not work for you.

E.g. Brasso Metal Polish dissolves expanded-polystyrene (a type of hard plastic). T-Cut can strip the shine from smooth plastic panels. And products containing alcohol (e.g. Windex) can wipe off decals in an instant.

Try to disassemble components first. Photograph as you go. It makes cleaning easier and avoids cleaning product cross-contamination. Mark your cleaning rags.

There's a wide choice of products and polishes on the market now. Most in your auto store. Some especially designed for plastics. They're not cheap, but they're worth it. Try to avoid using whatever's laying around in the shed. Tempting though that is.

Okay thanks guys! Looking at the serial number what month and year do you guys think it was made my guess is October of 1994? Vintage Hoovers are pretty hard to come by up here so i thought I should snatch this one up.
