I have a working Hover Elite 200 (model number on bottom appears to read U4455) that still works that I'm willing to part with. It's a graduate student hand-me-down that just can't tackle cat hair (or even my periodic shedding). It's in pretty good shape, still runs, etc. The only major damage is that the plastic clip that connected the top of the bag part to the handle is broken. It was like that when I inherited it years back.

There's a local vacuum shop that will take it in as a trade-in to be given to local charities, but I wanted to give a collector a chance at it. While I myself don't appreciate vacuums, I have my own collections.

I'm not asking for much. Basically cover the shipping plus a little tuppence. There's a UPS store a few blocks from me that I will ship in whatever way is cheapest (or whatever is preferred).

I'll monitor this thread for a bit.

I hope I can make a collector happy.

while it's kind for you to offer this, the Elite makes an excellent vacuum when in good shape. the brush and belt are likely worn, buy a new brush, belt, and a pack of bags and you should be good to go!

In all honesty, I do need a vacuum with different features, such as a scoping wand/arm thingie (excuse the poor language... very long day at work filing multiple support cases to a vendor) and better air filtering due to some allergies (but not cat dander). Better manueverability would also be a plus.

You should still be able to find HEPA Type A bags, I use NOS bags from Hoover in my machines. however, the hose could be the weak point. there were Elites with built-in hoses, if you find one of those and Hepa Type A bags, you'd be set. what are you using in place of this Elite 200, or plan to replace it with?
