When my wife got a new vacuum, she told me I had to put my old Hoover Decade 80 vacuum out in the alley for trash pick up. Instead I put it in our basement storage area, not wanting the cool retro design (and color) to go to waste.

I found this website where I'm hoping someone will appreciate the industrial design of this old vacuum cleaner and give it a good home.

It still runs (I plugged it in today and vacuumed our front doormat to double check), has the hose attachment with narrow end top, and some spare bags in case you want to put it to use.

Asking price is $15.00 (or best offer), to someone in the Chicagoland area. I am located in the Lincoln Square neighborhood on the northside, and ideally would like it to be picked up, though I am a participant of the iGo car sharing program if it is necessary to transport it a short distance.

I'll post a couple more pictures in the thread, and please e-mail me (listed in my profile) if you have any questions or I've forgotten anything.

Cheers,
