Finally got my orange/brown DAM

Very cheap but fortunately in great shape (lots of elbow grease on metal casing-rubbing compound and car wax really works) Looks awesome!

Needs a new belt....thought I had the right one but seemed wider than old one and rubbed on metal cover. Which are the correct belts (width measurement when new). Also....need a new or good used brown rub strip.

Thanks

Here in the UK the Dial-A-Matics were (rather confusingly) called Convertibles and are very rare, though I do hope to procure one some day. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Congratulations on purchasing your DAM.

As John said though, pictures are MANDATORY! :)

DAM

I had the blue version. It was my first vac. I bought it used, should have bought new. It kept breaking down, wish I would have gotten it fixed. My all time favorite vac, and I have tried them all. So quiet, easy to use, loved the tool set up.

Belts

Those look excellent, DAMs are the pinnacle of vacuum development in my opinion. I was under the impression that the wide belts were used on the non powerdrive models and the powerdrive models used the narrower belts. I own 2 power drive models and one time was given the belt for a non powerdrive model. I will see if I can locate it and get you a width.

Thanks for the compliments....pic is a little fuzzy. The DAM on the right is one I've had for awhile.
Thanks for checking on the belt width
