A while ago, I acquired a used Hoover (type C) vacuum motor from a local shop; description follows:

*Two-speed coil (blue and white primary / black and orange secondary wires).

*A plug or wiring harness that a few of the black wires lead to.

*Part # E76950HCR1 upper bearing (I'll assume it shouldn't be lubricated, even though the usual "do not lubricate" warning is absent).

*One of the upper bearing screws also fastens a metal bracket to the top of the motor, adjacent to the upper bearing.

*Black plastic dirt fan, part # 38755-010.

Now, for the question: If I wish to use this two-speed motor on one of my one-speed vacuums, is it OK to twist the black and orange secondary wires together and cap them off, or do I need to keep them separate?

Thanks!
