Thanks to my good friend Jeff Parker, I now have a complete 1975 Hoover U4057 Convertible. He sent me an all original one including the hard to find bag. This was the first bag to have the wide top design and use the bottom fill bag. I like the color on this machine.

It is going to clean up beautifully. Jeff even put in a new agitator for me. I really appreciate it Jeff. This was the last year for the rear tool conversion. Eventhough it was a lower level cleaner, it still had the top of the line two speed motor. This model lacked a zipper bag, headlight, and a handle grip. The wheels on this particular example show very little wear. Thanks again Jeff <br

This is the machine known as "pickles" from 1975 all shined up and ready for her "deh bee you". Thanks again to Jeff Parker for sending me this earlier example of the U4057. It was nearly spotless before and cleaned up perfectly. It runs very well and cleans only as a Hoover can. Thanks to to Jeff for putting in a brand new brush roll for me. I am so happy to have the set very complete now. This 1975 set has been a bear to find. The other sets have not given me much trouble. I am not sure why these four cleaners are so hard to find. I hope you all enjoy the photos.

Here they are...straight from 1975 in sunny North Canton, Ohio...the Hoover A and B lines! Left to right U4061, U4063, U4057, and U4059. This is a very colorful set. There were many, many other models built in 1975, but this was Hoover's flagship lineup. I am sure that they sold a lot of them, but for the life of me I cannot figure out why they are so rare today. Any ideas out there in Vacuumland?

Tom

One of my regular customers has this exact same machine which she brings in for a belt every now and then. She's sort of on the verge of trading it in, but since it works perfectly, she sees no reason to get something new. Maybe that's why they're hard to find?
