Hoover Convertible front seal attachment gasket

I have a couple of attachment converters for newer front ‘seal’ attachments. The gasket/seal around the converter is worn. I noticed Hoover used a weather stripping type material and then later used a caulk type gasket. I’ve used weather stripping and it works for a while but then starts to fall off and wear out! Guess I could use super glue to glue it on. Anyway, is there a type of caulk that I could use that would be better? Or some type of gasket maker? That would be good for plastic? Does anyone know what hoover used to create the seal?

I would imagine that a generous bead of silicone would probably do the trick.

I have a few with a bead of silicone, as, the 'fiber' would wear away.
Just don't get it too heavy, or the tray will not fit to close with the latch. "Less is more" here works.

I've used this with success. Also works well for making a "permanent" motor gasket!

I would also contact 3M and ask them if they have a type of product out there that makes gaskets. I know Kirby uses a gasket adhesive by them.

It's worth a shot.
