Hey guys! I had the zipper slider pop off the track on my Hoover Convertible U4389 and have no expertise in zippers nor do I really care to mess with them. Does anyone have any tips or tricks to fix the zipper, or have any type A outer bags they are willing to part with that are blue, or white and blue in color or any color that would look good with a blue hood, white base convertible? Any info or help is greatly appreciated!

Ironicly,

This happened to my Blue-hood Plastic base convertible- Except mine has the Replacement white bag.

Wow, that is ironic. I might just go buy a grey generic outer bag and install it over the type C fill tube and use F&G bags since the new bag will have more than enough room to accommodate it. I am getting a CWP brush roll for it as well since, if your standing behind it then it is the left bearing in the brush roll is shot. The brush roll moves back and fourth slightly causing it to rattle and vibrate BADLY!!!!!

Mine has the CWP brush too

all

you need for the brush roll are two new bearing housings there still available and arnt expensive .I have repaired zips in the past but its tricky a sticky zip can be helped with a very small amount of sewinmachine oil rubbed onto it with the fingers i have also replaced some zips with velcro it wirks well

Bearing housings

Thank you for the help Anthony. Would 3-in-1 oil work for the zipper? it was stuck to begin with, i got it loose then pulled it back down to close the bag and pop, came right off. Sure it is the bearing housing and not the bearing itself? I will have to further inspect the BR later when I get home from work.

yes any light oil will do

just try not to get it on the fabric i have used a small brush from a childs painting set .You may find the brushroll bearings to be ok and just the housings worn but as i said you can get new housings with new bearings fitted on ebay mush cheaper than a new brushroll when i buy them i take out the bearing and slap in extra grease just for good measure Another tip i got from my mum is that spray furniture polish will free up a stuck zip it works a treat on plastic curtain track .
