Its also been a month for Hoover Concept Cleaners. I picked up this Concept 2 (model U4213-001) at a garage sale two weeks ago for $10 (Anyone know what the production date was for it?)

Then last week another friend gave me this one. A Concept One (model U3101-001) with power drive and a full set of attachments. (Again - anyone know the date of this machine?)

The only other Concept One I have in my collection is this one (model U4205-001) from 1978.

Were there any other versions of the Concept? I cant recall ever seeing any others sold here.

Concept Ones and Twos

The first Concept Ones, when originally introduced in 1978, were models U4203 and U4201 (w/o Power Drive), and the Concept One Power Drive models were U3103 and U3101.

The U4205 and U3105 Concept Ones with their Jade Green trim color (shared with the Decade 80 U4161 upright) came around 1983, the year the Concept Two line was new.

All Concept Two uprights also had a Help-Mate hand vacuum (Hoover's foil to Black & Decker's Dustbuster series) stored on-board. Some Concept Twos also had electronics (initial models were U4211 w/o Power Drive and U3301 with Power Drive) to better warn you of a full bag or loss of suction, among other things.
