I finally found a Hoover Concept today. My Grandapa and I were going to thrift store to thrift store and we found it! We have been looking for one of these brush rolls FOREVER. It runs perfectly and the brush roll even has good brush strips. The serial number has no date on it so I'm thinking this a is late 70s- early 80's machine. If anyone has brush-strips for this i will buy them from you. Here is a picture of my new concept.

Nice Concept, I have the same model, it's my daily driver.

BTW, that is a mid 80's model, around 85-86 I believe

That is similar to the one I have as well. I don't use mine, I don't like Hoover's power drive, to jerky. I wish I could find a Dial-A-Matic that doesn't have power drive and a Concept. I also have a complete deluxe attachment set for my Concept.

Oh, good luck on finding brush strips, they are NLA, my concept like yours has new brushes I found, my Concept II has almost new brush strips, my Penney's Concept is unused so it hasnew brushes, and I have one set ofspares which I paid an arm and a leg for just to have.

THey also had a replacement brushroll which was plastic with all brushes, it was discontinued late last year, so you may have better luck finding the replacement brush roll

The main reason I bought this vacuum in the frist place was for the brush roll itself! I knew that they were no longer made and no vacuum shop around me within 50 miles had one.

So if I were to sell this how much would I get for it on ebay?

eBay hasn't been very kind to Hoover Concepts lately. They are going for very small amounts of money with only one or two bids. If you do decide to eBay it, I would say a good starting bid would be $25.00 with a buy it now option of $50.00. That way, if there is someone who would be willing to pay more for it, or desperately wants it, they can click buy it now, and not worry. On the other hand, if there is someone who sort of wants it, but doesn't want to pay a fortune, they can start bidding at $25, and should it go higher than they anticipated, they can simply stop bidding and let the other person buy it.
