Two of my Hoover Convertible brushrolls need help. The first one has worn brushes (that are not replaceable) and the second has worn brushes as well and the bearing have been replaced but it has a weird vibration.

I'm at the point I'd rather replace then attempt to repair them so my question is what would be the best option?I see generic wood ones with plastic caps and much more expensive metal ones. I've heard the wood ones are nice but doesn't the plastic ends heat up and melt a lot? also how often does the generic ones with plastic ends need lubricating?

I'm guessing I'm opening a can of worms with metal vs. plastic but these converts are used pretty often so the longevity is a concern.

Brushroll

Its true, I have never had good luck with plastic ended convertible brishrolls. They end up being crapolla, I usually pull them off and replace them with metal ones. Plastic ended caps and metals caps brushrolls need lubricated about the same since they use the same bearings. (atleast in the ones I have). Replace them with metal ended genuines. I have gotten my replacements from vac shops that have used ones, replace the bearings, and they work great. Those are my recommendations.

Thank you! I'll track down used originals. I was thinking of the CWP replacements but the original metal ones seem the better choice.
