So I picked up a Convertible last week. Sounded kinda rough, but I got it anyway because I believed it was a fixable issue.

Wrong, upon inspection of the armature, I discovered the shaft had worn right where it meets the bearing. Basically it is now cam-ed. Nothing I can do to fix it.

Does anyone have an extra armature they will part with. I understand they are no longer available and the the Ebay offerings are quite more than I want to pay.

Please let me know. I would like to clear my work bench to work on two new vacuums.

I got 1

I don't know much about convertibles, but this armature was in a 61 and doesn't work well in the 61. I got it, its pretty clean. Make me an offer.

Its was a bad repair on a 61

It is a convertible armature, just I bought the 61 at a thrift shop and it didn't work, and after getting it apart, it had a convertible armature in it. That's what I meant. its clean and its for a convertible. The 61 just had a incorrect replacement that wasn't for it.

Thanks everyone....

So I have decided not to replace the armature. Instead I am going to harvest the parts for when I find a machine or machines locally. I did not want to invest more money in this one nor hassle with shipping.

So thanks for the offerings and sorry for wasting your time. I just wanted to see if I could get this one running.

Thanks again, I appreciate your help. Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year to all!
