Aquatronic 1100 = Swiss manufacture
I remember that too, from the brochures and other documentation.
I am also pretty sure that they were available around the same time as the Hoover Aquamasters.
The Aquatronic model seemed to me to share its heritage from a commercial model that Hoover also sold. Basically the commercial model was vertical, cylindrical drum-shaped - based around the clean/dirty water solution tanks with a flared base. The polycarbonate lid was identical.
I was never a fan of push-fit tools. Hoover's twisting locking rings were far superior. I remember the Vax 121 had problems with water and grit jamming the tubes and washing heads together.
