Called Hoover Customer Service about replacement filter cost
I attached a link to the only webpage that Hoover still has up for this product.
Kinda sad, but one bad review does not mean all that much.
My experience with using it while teaching my niece how to use it, was that the suction was moderate to strong, not sure about if it's up against much resistance if it fades fast... it probably does. However, it's definitely a huge step up for her from a low powered stick vac, which she couldn't use for dusting or above floor work as easily.
The Hoover Customer Service Rep. said that
HEPA pre-motor filters are: $9.52 + $6.99 shipping; part number 440008004 on back order until July 2019
Foam pre-motor filters are: $1.04 + $6.99 shipping; part number 440008005 on back order until July 2019
Also, seeing in an online video somewhere, that there actually is a post motor foam filter, which I thought should be easily accessible by removing the four small screws next to the carry handle.. no such luck! It must involve removing the large green "wheel" plastic, and I was afraid it would crack. Damn, that could have been useable.
I did find from the Service Rep. that there is a HEPA type filter under there and it is an exhaust filter and is a bit costly... like more thatn what we paid for the whole machine!
Exhaust HEPA filters are: $36.92 + $6.99 shipping; part number 440008002 available now
Note that the numbers on the dust bin sticker are incorrect, per me tediously going over it twice with her, I am sure the part numbers I got above are correct.
Happy Hoovering!
BTW, I saw on their website that Hoover doesn't have ANY Canisters at all in their line up. This may be the end for them producing Cansiters.
My G-d, what's this world coming to?
