Hi,

Exactly how robust was the commercial Hoover 913, 918 and U7037? Any good reviews on these classic vacuums? The UK market has these as models 912, 912A, U7008 and C1312.

Also, was the U7037 the last variation to be imported to the USA? This question is arrived at, as I believe no USA version of the UK C1312 (with the orange bag) was known to exist.

My opinion......

Hey Ben

Witth regard to the durability of these models id say they are pretty much indestructable under normal use. The only wear ive ever seen thats not been down to abuse is of the metal agitator brackets/runners.

I have 3 versions of this line- 912A, U7008, and the ultra rare C1312(im not aware of any other UK collector owning one!).As an added bonus the 912A was last run before it left Perivale in 1975(its never had a plug fitted!!), and the C1312 has been run briefly but has never had dirt through it :).

The only drawback I can think of is they are bloody heavy lol!!!

In the 1st Photo of Yours...

@seamusuk

In the 1st photo you submitted here, I see the 912A, the U7008 and the C1312, pictured with the U4002 Ranger (contract color scheme). Also I see the consumer version of the U4002 (gold trim), a floor polisher in blue, and a Junior (probably model U1012) for what I believe is not a mainstream version due to its orange bag.

Again, I believe the U7037 was the last model in the 912/913 series to be imported to the USA. One of those, that I found in a post I'd seen here about six months ago, dates to February of 1980.

The Junior...

Hey Ben

Its actually a 1346A- the colour scheme is either an exclusive version or its been reconditioned using genuine Hoover parts- the jury is out on that one lol.....

The U7037 was indeed your last version of this design, although oddly both sides of the Atlantic had the design for about the same ammount of time- we didnt get the 912 until 1949 whereas you had the 90 from 1940? and the U7037 goes to the early 80s whereas my C1312 is from 89.

Heres link to the thread I posted when I found the C1312..
