I may be mistaken, but I believe that was manufactured by Wagner and branded with the Hoover name. I kind of remember it being a big deal to have a height adjustable carpet sweeper at the time. As soon as I saw it, that came to my mind, which works in mysterious ways.

Nice find! It looks like a standard screw-in mop handle will fit.

Electrolux sold Bissell sweepers branded the "Electrolux Casual Sweeper" during the run of the F and early G. I have one in perfect condition. It "kinda" works for surface fluff...

Such estate sale karma...

Paul,
To quote the definitive 80's band "Culture Club"...once again you are a "karma chameleon" when it comes to estate sales.

I believe I found a similar model at a Ft Worth estate sale years ago. I brought it to the Bay Area to give to a collector while I was visiting my brother's family. My 6 year niece gave it a test drive and with her signature side glance she said "I hope you didn't pay to much for this Uncle Sean". I know she would be satisfied with the price you paid.

Why would you think you overpaid? I paid $20 for a manual whisk sweeper like this before - and it is rusty and not at all clean. They are good for cat litter.

Funny you should mention cat litter

Before I give this sweeper its "spa treatment" I gave it some tests. It was quite good at cleaning cat litter.
It's not good at cleaning upholstery, curtains and furnace filters however.
