Hello, I'm writing from Turkey. I would like to share my Hoover 652 recently refurbished by me. I believe it's a late example with plastic casing. It didn't had light, I installed later on, has white lamp lens. Hoover logo is a simple sticker, built quality is a little inferior I guess.

Wow…. I have never seen a real Turkish Hoover!

If you ever found another one I would happily pay whatever you might want to ship to the US. I am trying to get a vintage vacuum from every country.

Congratulations on the restoration! It looks excellent!

I should also mention

If you need any help getting any parts or machines from the USA, I have no problem shipping anywhere. I actually just mailed to Germany the other week and need to again soon.

Hoover 652 Rebirth

"built quality is a little inferior I guess." How about,"rebuild quality is quite superior I know." Fixed that for you, Yavuzss, great job. Can you share a photo of your other 652's some time? Also, what do you find the most difficult part of doing the restoration other than finding the parts?

Hoover300 cost of shipping from Turkey to America probably costs more than vacuum cleaner itself, but if you are interested I would like to find one for you. in Turkey we use 220 volts mains. Most common 652's are green here, but I also have red and light blue in my collection which was made in Turkey. They probably had few more colors but not very common. Not fancy as American models. Thanks for asking, I bought some paper bags and belts shipped from UK, and have few spare machines for parts.

kirbyklekter, thank you. I have 3 Turkish 652's green, red and light blue. Also have British Hoover 6525 in blue and U4014 green Ranger from 1977, British twins. I don't like to respray, so finding a clean machine is the hardest part. Finding spare time is another problem, so much time consuming job. I usually restore clocks and classic car accessories. That light blue 652 is gorgeous! Is that plastic base?

Voltage is no issue, I bought a voltage step up transformer awhile back for my foreign cleaners. As for shipping cost that is to be expected, I can sell a few things if need be to save up. It would be an honor to own a Turkish cleaner!!

Do you retrobrite? How do you get the white plastic looking so good?

I'll let you know when I find a good Turkish 652 for you. Red one was my first vacuum restoration, and I was lucky to find it in nice condition. I took off all the parts, cleaned it with warm water and soap using toothbrush, some rubbing compound to make it shine, greased the bearings, new belt and paper bag that's it. The second vacuum I restored recently (Hoover Junior Dirt Searcher) I only retrobrite the lens for light, used rubbing compound on base and handle, that was enough for me, it still looks kind of yellow but clean.

Hoover300 now I checked out the blue one, it's a plastic base model, needs some care. Probably this one will wait few years for restoration because I'll keep this one for myself and have a lot of clocks and classic car parts which I restore and sell.

Noted about the rubbing compound, it looks quite nice!

That is an interesting color of Hoover Senior, does the bag match the hood or is it grey?
