Hello, this is the new member of my Hoover collection. I believe it's from late 50's with singles speed 385 watt motor. Has darker color power switch on the bottom. Made in Great Britain with German plate, probably sold in Germany, some how now it's in Turkey. It came with original Turkish Hoover paper dust bags, and a tool set which looks form later years. Trying to find out the production date, someone can help me? Serial number is JS157237

Hello and welcome to Vacuumland!

Your Model 652 Senior looks incredible - congratulations! As far as I know Hoover Ltd. began coding its serial numbers in 1967, and your cleaner is definitely older than that. A UK collector may have more information. I can tell you that the 652 was later made in light and medium grey from 1962-c.64.

Its counterpart in the US is Model 65 in Heather Rose and Pearl White, which was manufactured from 1957 to 1959. The Canadians also had their own similar Model 651 made around the same time. So that's likely the period of manufacture for yours.

After the grey 652 came the Model 652A in Jonquil & Hop Green, followed by the 6525A in Smoke Pine & Swedish Green in 1967 and the 6525C in Dolphin Blue & Ivory in 1970; along with the exclusive store Model 6525E in gold, brown, and Midnight Blue. The model styling was retired circa 1974 after nearly 20 years.

Thank you Paul. Alistair thank you very much, I found a list which was showing the production date was first half of 1960 but not exact month. Tools mighty be never used, or used few times.
