This past weekend Chad Cunningham and I took apart and restored his Hoover 63 and I noticed that I am missing the wire support for the bellows on mine. The bellows tend to slip out without the wire support. I was able to cut a piece of wire with wire cutters and create a temporary fix.

Anyway I wanted to know if wire support could still be ordered? Does anybody have any suggestions?

Am I missing anything else?

I believe this is what you're looking for. You have, no doubt discovered that it is rather difficult to install. The two ends have to be "convinced" to meet each other head-on. This requires the use of at least two vise-grip type pliers to hold the wire in the groove of the bellows (at the opposite side from the open end and just below or above the open end) and a screw driver to "pop" the ends into position. Take care not to chew up the paint finish with the pliers.

Thanks...

Thanks so much Marty. I just order the retention ring. I'm so glad it wasn't that difficult to find. The 63 is a wonderful vacuum and one of my favorites in my collection.

Thanks again,
