Does the model 62 use paper inner bags or is it a shake out model? I need a new outer bag. If anyone knows of one for sale let me know. 9173731089

Model 62

Uses type W "handisacs". They are reusable paper bags. Probably my favorite paper bag setup on the older Hoover cleaners...also one of my favorites from the 60 series. I may have an aftermarket bag somewhere around here. Email me and I'll try to find something to keep you "hoovering"!

bellows for the 62,63,etc hoover

usavacuum.com still has these in their own stock oem,I just purchased 2,..6ea plus change, they are getting abit hard to find,as we know, they are larger diameter on the motor end, than the newer uprights (convertibles). There are tons of new outer bags on ebay, but NOT for the 62,or 63 style

The bellows for the 63 will not work on a 62 with a handisac fill tube. Way different! To make a 63 bellows work on a 60/61/62 you'd have to change the fill tube to that of the 63/64/convertible type C setup. Very simple fix.

model 62

Note how the original handisac bellows mounts beneath the fill tube? It's wide at the bag ring, and tapers to fit the small circular ring within the fill tube.

The 63

Is just a wider bellows than that of bottom filling convertibles. These ARE still relatively readily available on several vacuum websites and vacuum shops. Hope this helps!

Hoover model 62 belt

I an having trouble locating a replacement bel for hoover model 62 . The belts I find are too short and stress the brush roller. The belt looks to be 4 5/8" in diameter , can anyone direct me to where I can get this belt. Thanks

for the older pre convertbile and coffee can hoovers, use a eureka f&g "RD" belt. 44783 hoover belts will strain the motor too much and are too tight. this is consulted from tom anderson and other hoover experts.
