Congratulations

This was certainly a rare find - dating from around 1964 - 1966. Thsi cleaner was produced in several different colourways although I crtainly dont recall the black or olive green versions - until I got them :) There were two red versions, one in this sort of stripy material and another in "solid" red - I have not seen either of these yet, although i remember seeing a red one way back in the mid 1960s

The only snag with this model is that it has a unique hose coupling which was not used an any other hoover cleaner. But still a great find and well worth having.

I..

Hi, I use to have the red version of this vacuum cleaner with the tools back in the late 90s. I let my mum have it for the caravan. I can't remember what happened to it after that.
I got it from the local tip. Back when you could buy bits off them for a £5.
I hate going to the tip well recycling centre as there called now. If you see something you really want they won't sell it to you. I wonder how many rare vacs will go there now and wont be rescued....:o(

My recycling plant still sells vacs to me.
It has turned up some nice machines , a Kirby G5 a Kirby legend, a old vorwerk, a Elecrolux ZA55 and many more, why won't your guys sell to you

Its just..

I believe its to do with new laws about getting rid of electrical items correctly.
Also as the Councils around the UK have contracted most of the tips/recycling centres to big private companies who sell the seperated materials Metal, plastics etc on to other companies and get money for them.

It really annoys me but there bugger all you can do. They even have lots of CCTV all over the place to make sure you don't take anything. Once a year or two ago the manager would put some bits aside they might sell you on the quite, But there at risk of being fired if they get spotted doing it... So most don't anymore.

Your only hope is going to a privatly owned tip. They will still sell bits on to you.
But there far and few between.
