Original

Hi, it appears to be; the cord assembly may have been updated to today's standards as I believe the UK requires this. Anyway, it's a smart looking vacuum. Hope you win it. Ron

That's only required if electricals are to be sold commercially, and even then they're usually passed with old style wiring (Red & Black conductors for Live & Neutral respectively, rather than today's Brown & Blue) so long as it's intact with no breaks in the insulation... :)

My 1334 (seem to be bringing this up a lot lately!!) has a Red & Black conductor cable, not a problem with it at all, no nicks, cracks, shorts or breaks, I'm sure if it was inspected by a PAT tester, it would be passed... :)

That 370 though looks pretty good, that handle grip looks too big for the vac to me, but that's just an observation, they probably just used the same grips across the board back then, money saving exercises I guess... :)

It looks fantastic

And the reason for that is that it IS fantastic.

I can recommend the seller as a person of the highest integrity, who knows what he is talking about and will honestly describe what he is selling. At the price this cleaner is an absolute steal - I would be going for it myself only I have one almost identical myself.

The only part of this cleaner which is not "genuine" is that the metal front part was originally painted, this has been removed and the head polished instead - which I personally think looks better than the original.

And no, I am not the person selling the cleaner.

Yes, it is nice!..

so there will be more interest now that everyone knows about it?!

It looks like the machine will have to be collected from the Birmingham area, whoever wins it.

Callum, the belts for the 370 and 375 are round in cross-section and smaller in diameter than the round belts fitted to later juniors models 119, 1334, 1346, 1354, 1012 etc. I'm not sure if they're still being made but AFAIK, the genuine Hoover ones have been obsolete for many years, however pattern ones have been available, which are quite satisfactory. A few online sellers still advertise them, though they may be New Old Stock.

Sorry I slipped up!

about the location; it's Wigston, south Leicester area, south of Loughborough and Nottingham, not Birmingham. I was instantly thinking Birmingham for some reason when it said midlands!
