Looks great Ray! The lilac bag really makes it pop! And since you've recently dyed a bag, maybe you can help me out. I have never dyed a bag before, but I have a couple generic grey Royal bags that I would like to dye black and have the logo imprinted on them to complete the restoration of a couple vintage Electro-Hygienes that I have. I have asked about this in Vacuumland and the Royal group before but didn't get any answers that were really helpful. If you can give me any procedural advice I would certainly appreciate it. Here's a few questions to start with:
1. Do I need a special dye or will the readily available Rit Fabric Dye work?
2. Do I need to remove the metal collar, or can I leave it on?
3. Can I dye 2 bags together or should I only do one at a time, and if I can only do one at a time, can I reuse the same solution for the second bag?
Any other advice, hints, or tips will be appreciated. Here are a few pics to show you what I'm working with. First pic is one of the grey bags that I intend to dye. Second pic is a model 94 Electro-Hygiene that the previous owner had sewed a section of the original bag onto a grey bag. I posted this pic so you could see what the logo looks like that I want to have imprinted on the bags after I dye them. The third pic is my model 80 Electro-Hygiene, which will proudly wear one of the reproduction bags when finished. Any information or advice you can give me will be appreciated! Thank you in advance,
Jeff
