Homemade central vacuum! Awesome

Hey guys just wanted to let you know of my latest project, The Shark Navigator NV22 Central Vac. I took the hose from a DC07 and The hand as well and i took the bottom end of the dyson hose and made an adapter out of a Hoover WindTunnel 3 Extension wand. The end the enxtends out on the Hoover wand goes into the shark hose and the other end slides into the dyson hose. Have not tested yet but i am certain it will have very strong suction, By the way i live in a 2 bedroom apartment so this is perfect. But all i need is a air driven carpet nozzle. I would love a Kenmore Magic Blue air driven nozzle but i can deal with something else that agitates semi good. I will pay up to $17 plus shipping

If you wait, you can get the new prototype when it hits the market from Riccar and Simplicity! It's a cordless powered tandem air power nozzle. Dysonman1 has a video up somewhere. It's a great power head. It has a powerful brush and a direct air fan motor sucking in dirt and blowing it up the wand. When you connect a vacuum hose to the wand with another suction unit it's a tandem air system combining direct air and indirect airflow methods. There is no turbine to disrupt and rob power from the suction to power the brush roll like there would be in a turbine powered nozzle that you're seeking!

I've tried the new nozzle from Tacony and it's great!

Very neat idea you have with your 'mock' central vac setup as long as it doesn't lose power!

It has just as much suction at the end of the wand as when my extension hose is not on. It is VERY Powerful and quiet. I just need a head...

I've made one too!

Years ago I wanted a central vac, but at the time i didn't have the money to spend on one So i came up with this solution. For the power unit I took a shop vac, some 2" pvc piping and made a cyclone from a funnel, a bucket, a shop vac hose cuff, and a 2" hose connector. For a hose i took 2 8' shop vac hoses and connected them by using a dirt devil hand vac hose end, it fit perfectly inside of the hoses creating a seamless connection. I then used an older kirby cord and what i'm assuming was a pigtail from a central vacuum hose (2 prong outlet to 2 pin connection) and strapped that to the outside of the hose so i could use a power nozzle. I used an Electrolux PN-6 for my nozzle as it had a power switch on the nozzle itself. I also had a remote device like the one in the link that i used to turn the shop vac on and off from the hose end. Looking back it was a rather ugly and bulky setup, but it did kind of give me the feeling of a central vac.
