This was the first kirby I ever had. I bought it on ebay about 5 years ago. To make a long story short I have all the attachments and really was excited when it got this vac. Well its been quite some time sense I have seen it sense being in school and work and moving and just life in general I am finally able to reconnect and start getting it clean. I can honestly say this web site has inspired me to really embrace this side of my peronality and what I enjoy. Thanks to all

polishing

I am using brillo and brasso trying to polish I beleive a buffing wheel is in my future. Does anyone have any quick fixes for this and what to use. I have never been very good at buffing them up.

I wouldn't use a Brillo except on actual "crud". Get some finer grade steel wool at HD or Lowes, grade 000 or 0000 for polishing to a mirror like finish.

Matthew,

I wouldn't use Brasso because of the poor results I've received from it in the past. Try going to an auto parts store (AutoZone or Advanced) and get some metal polish. "Mothers" is a good brand as well as others. I bought a buffing attachments to go on an electric drill which work wonders. Here is a picture of my Kirby G3 that I polished up.

yes

It is very tiring I have done nothing but clean vacuums all weekend. I am sore and tired now ready to start my stressful week. As well as I had finals this week. So a bit tired.

looks like...

looks like a heritage I with a heritageII head on it to me, and judging by the serial number it looks to be an '82. the early heritage had the kirby logo on the headlight lens, also it did not say kirby on the lower part of the handle fork decal. also the scuff plate had lines simmular to the ones on the handle, their kinda rare!

thanks

it is a heritage I have a heritage two up north sorry confused. It does look good finally new belts and I have all my turbo attachments this is the original head on this vac and has the kirby logo on the headlight.
