Any tips for making it a bit easier to push aside from keeping the nozzle from touching the carpet? I have the wide nozzle with the indicator light.
Any carpeted surface i let it touch it just sucks itself to it and doesn't want to move?
Brush roll is fairly decent, CWP replacement. new belt, and properly adjusted height

Flip it over and adjust the screw that is in the Micro-Matic button.

i have one of these

and have the same problem i have ajusted the micro matic it makes no diffrence once it sucks the carpet up you cant move it without considerable force i do have thick carpet but you would think kirby would have thought of that

I have some pretty thick plush in the bedrooms, berber in family room, some crap loop pile in the dining room. The Kirby glues itself to the floor, sometimes I think I'm going to break the handle trying to push it

if it had side suction channels it would clean up tp the skirting and solve the hard to push problem

Your rug nozzle is set too low. You also may need a new brush roll.

Start with the rug nozzle in the highest position, meaning step on the height adjuster lever so that it goes all the way down, raising the front of the rug nozzle all the way up. Turn the Kirby on.

Now, with the Kirby on the carpet you intend to vacuum, press the lowering button with your toe one notch at a time, until you hear a change in the sound of the Kirby motor. It should be at the same time as the Rug Nozzle touches the carpet.
The Kirby should practically pull itself,,you should be able to push the Kirby without alot of effort.
IF the Kirby pushes hard,,raise the Rug Nozzle one notch. IF this breaks the suction seal to the carpet, lower the Rug Nozzle one notch.
IF neither of these methods work, the Micro Matic needs adjustment with a screwdriver as stated above.

IF NONE of these methods work,,you need a NEW 4 ROW brush roll with long new bristles, and a NEW BELT!

Also, make sure the Brush Roll is set properly inside the Rug Nozzle. Check to Make sure that enough of the brush bristles are showing thru the bottom of the Rug Nozzle plate to dig into the carpet. If the carpet is thick or dense,,more (or lower) brush bristles may be necessary than for shorter nap carpet.
Adjust the screws on both sides of the brush roll so that the same amount of brush bristles are comming thru the bottom of the Rug Plate on each side.
Do this by disengaging the belt, and hold the Rug Nozzle upside down at an angle,,while turning the brush roll by hand,, eyeball it to make sure the brush roll bristles are at the same level all the way across,,and that enough bristles are showing for the type of carpet you are vacuuming.
This adjustment will be necessary as the brush bristles wear down with use.

If there is very little or no brush bristles showing past the Rug Plate,,the Kirby will be very hard to push, no matter what.
