...You did very well. I'm especially impressed that there are original Interstate/Compact tools with it. That rug tool currently goes for nearly a hundred dollars new.
Just FYI, if your tools need new bristles, TriStar has them available. When natural bristles get old, they dry out and begin breaking off; I had this problem with the dusting brush on my TriStar CXL. A new TriStar dusting brush insert fixed the problem for $7, and it kept my machine all-original, with its clear/glitter tools. There are replacement bristles available for the floor tool, the rug tool, and the dusting brush. None are expensive.
Interstate/Compact made the plastic tools in both grey and turquoise, depending on the year, and TriStar made the same tools in the clear/glitter colour, with changes to the neck of each tool to accommodate the wand lock button that was added at some point.

All cleaned up
I just finished putting it all back together.I had to repaint the inside and out side of the vacuum.I also to the motor apart and cleaned the impellers, checked the bearings and carbon brushes.I don't think this was use to much because everything was pretty clean in the motor.I also polished both of the floor tools and the chrome latches.Tell me what You guys think.Thanks,

From your previous pics, I couldn't tell that you had both the floor and rug tools, plus the Polish-Aire. Nice going indeed. And you've got all three of the plastic tools. Very, very nice. Does the upholstery tool have the grille still with it? If it does, the grille snaps out for upholstery vacuuming; the purpose of the grille is to use when vacuuming curtains, to keep them from getting sucked into the tool.

The grille is still available from TriStar Canada, at $1.68 plus shipping. You should know that there was more than one size; some of the older upholstery tools were a bit bigger than the newer ones. But it's cheap, so if it doesn't fit, not much harm done. I had to file a grille down to fit my TriStar's upholstery tool; that works if the grille is too big. But if it's too small, it wouldn't work.
I will say this; the grill makes a huge difference on curtains.

Great Job! Compact is still one of my dream machines, I don't have one in my collection yet! In fact, I have never really used one, perhaps at Tania's or Fred's a little...but to actually put one through it's course..no.

Polish-Aire:
Mike - Forgive me if I am telling you something you already know, but I wanted to be sure. A Polish-Aire runs with the hose in the exhaust port, not the suction port. A lot of people try it wrong.

Great job on the Compact. I have one that I have not attempted to restore yet. I was wondering, when you painted yours, did the finishes you applied over the original wrinkle-finish tend to mask them? In other words, does it still feel like the original finish? I've been holding up on mine for just that reason. Wrinkle finish is available in a spray can, but I've only ever found it in Black or a rust colored Red. The other reason I've waited is the decal. I would like to find one of those.

Great job on the compact. You'll love it. Never losses it's air flow/suction. Even if your using it for plaster dust or a cement floor, or dead fireplace ashes. As the air passes across the top of the bag to the motor filter and on thru.
While any dirt, dust and heavy objects drop into the bag!
If the air flow dose slow some, just pull the paper bag out and tap the dust from the top sides of the bag. Turn the machine on and drop the paper bag, with dirt back into the cloth filter bag !
Used one for years to clean, new built homes, condos and
apts.

Thanks Guys!! I sprayed 4 light coats over the wrinkle finsh and the wrinkling still shows through just fine.Mine didn't have the decal on the one side.I'm still looking for one of those.(I know "good Luck")I have to remember about that bag trick.Thanks Again!!
