Quiet is good. Any experience on the list with Henry? Is it worth 3X?

I want to find something smaller in the wet/dry arena than my 16 gallon shop vac.

That video may be slightly outdated, the newest Henry uses a 680 watt single stage motor. It's very quiet though, I have not heard the craftsman model mentioned in the video. If you think you will need to clean up liquids, than the craftsman is the way to go, Henry can only be used for dry vacuuming. On the other hand, Henry is probably made a bit better.

Caraftsmen 12002 Watts Guess

An agent of Vacmaster wrote me the VF408 which looks strangely like a Craftsmen 12002 with the same "peak HP" differing in color and accessories is 8A or 960w.

I like the wet dry option. Change over is involved but at these prices one could have 2 one for wet and one for dry.

The hose retention is better on the Craftsmen version.

Even Shop-Vac Admits That Peak HP Is A Total Lie

A 5.0 Peak HP Shop-Vac specs out at 176 CFM (2.5 inch diameter hose), 61" of lift, 330 AirWatts and 10A power usage. This equates to 1200 Watts in a 120V scenario, which would be 1200/746 = 1.61 HP continuous load.

"In actual use, Shop-Vac® motors do not operate at the peak horsepower shown."

I'm still amazed any manufacturer is still permitted to print blatently false info if it wasn't for the work "peak" included before the "HP".

craftsman and vacmaster

Actually, both of these brands are made by a company called Cleva, that's why they are similar. I have a craftsman 5 gallon model that is very similar to a vacmaster 5 gallon model that I also have, they use different motors though. As has been stated, peak HP is meaningless. The main specs of interest are the water lift and CFM.

Very loud

All shop vacs what I have used are extremely loud. Real suction in most cases is not comparable to the "home vacuum" although airflow is good.

Cleva VACs

It appears Cleva trims these out under 3 names. I ordered the Craftsmen 12002 version because it has formed wire to retain the hose when not in use. The VF408B is CLEVA's industrial version with a longer non self retracting cord and a nicer hose. This was a close second because of the hoses.

Comparison sound Videos

The Craftsmen 12002 has a real nice smooth sound. It is equipped with a paper bag filter, followed by a pleated cylinder followed by a HEPA outlet. Great shop vac/hard surface vacuum. Quiet so you can hear what your are working on. 1-1/4" tubes.

Note: Visually only one vacuum is plugged in and running per video...
