I have a 3 year old kenmore canister vac in the vac shop for repairs. The vacuum does not turn on.??? I have done a continuity test ... The result is that there is power going from the plug to the to the electiral outlet for the power nozzel. The on/off swith located on the canister works. I took the motor out and hot wired it and it works. I put the motor back in the vacuum and I examined all the wires and they all look good and properly connected. The vacuum motor still does not run.

What next?

Don't some kenmore canisters have an overload protector or something like that. That's just what jumps to mind for me.
