Hello there. Does anyone know which manufacturer/model this bag is for? The 'H' sounds like it could be Hoover but Ive never seen one like it. It was on a Model 541 but not right for that model I dont think. Hotpoint maybe?

I agree with Marty...this is an aftermarket bag set up for a Hoover Cleaner (coffee can model of some sort). I like the look of this black bag. Most of them were brown and not nearly as detailed as this one. Thanks for sharing the photo with us all.

Thanks very much for your help. Interesting crown and shield design. Should look good on one of my pre-war cleaners!

This is my first thread. I really like this forum. I will definately be joining in with more chat.

Thanks again, Jon.

WELCOME, JON

Everyone is welcome, but HOOVER people are especially encouraged!!! tehehehe
I'm certain you will enjoy it here. Rick

Hmm, I thot this is what would be called "bojack" as opposed to "aftermarket." Or do I misunderstand the terms?

I thot "aftermarket" referred to original mfgr replacement parts, whereas "bojack" was "brand-x" or vac shop supplier stuff.

The "H" bag falls into the latter category, no? It is not a Hoover product is it? If it was, wouldn't it say "Hoover" and not just "H"???

Inquiring minds want to know.

I have always considered "bojack" and "aftermarket" both as being made by some other company. I think "aftermarket" could refer to the original manufacturer in some cases, but bojack is strictly 3rd party.

I'd usually think of "aftermarket" as being some kind of upgrade to the original. This mostly comes from my car experience, as people rarely upgrade their vacuum cleaner.

Bojack, Aftermarket

They are the same to me as far as I'm concerned. If its not original from the factory but "made to fit" then its an aftermarket or more affectionately, a bojack.

I think Charles has it right. I've seen bags made by Hoover with the round logo for Hoover and Kirby for that matter, It's a aftermarket.

If the bag is made by a company like DVC, then its a bojack. I use the terms interchangably meaning any part that is not original.

Marty
