A while back I acquired a Lux model E (US) cleaner, something that is very rare in this side of the pond. Sadly there is a problem with the hose.

Is there anyway that this can be removed from the coupling, the bad section removed, and re-connected. It would cost way more than the machine is worth to buy and import a hose from the USA.

One of the wands is also rusted (apparently) into the combination floor nozzle. Any ideas of getting this out too?

Thanks

Al

Wand rusted to floor nozzle.....

I have had good luck with either WD-40, or a good penetrating oil. Soak the connection, and then with enough wiggling it should come apart.

You should be able to cut the end off of the hose where it is split, and slide a flat head screw driver between the coupling and the little hose stub and pry away. You should be able to pry it out, and then glue the hose back into the coupling.

Hope this helps,
Daniel :)
