I have scoured the internet looking for instructions that show me how to gain access and replace a "burned out" motor.

I picked this up from a lady who said her Vacuum Repair Shop told her the motor was shot.

I plugged it in, I did not hear the vacuum motor come on, but saw that the brush roll motor did come on.

Any suggestions?

It sounds like the carbon brushes are shot in the suction motor, seeing how the brushroll motor still functions. I usually don't bother replacing Dyson motors. Too labor and Cost inductive. By now it would be smarter for her to replace the vacuum.

Thanks Andy,.

Actually she gave it to me. I have at least 3 motors and was hoping to replace the dead one.

If I could just figure out how to open up the casing and switch out motors.

Thank you, Scott....

I finally found that last screw only accessed by removing the wheel. After I got inside, I found lots of dust everywhere. I had no way of knowing if this motor was really no good. Especially since I did not know what to look for.

The replacement motor would not work, so I harvested parts and recycled the rest.

Thanks Guys.
