I have a couple of questions for the Hoover experts in the club. I just today added a very nice Hoover 25 to my collection. After emptying a full bag of old dirt and vacuuming out the bag good I began the cleaning of the unit itself. After I had it cleaned up so no dust would fly I plugged it in and turned it on and it ran fine. Then, all of a sudden it lost half of its RPM. During the cleaning I discovered that I had no idea at all how to get the hood off to clean the motor area and check the brushes. The fan spins freely as does the agitator. So, can anyone help me on this loss of RPM problem and give me information on how to remove the hood? I will appreciate any and all knowledge anyone is willing to share with me. I am hoping my RPM problem is motor brushes. I took the handle off and plugged it into a good extension cord and it still has no RPM. Oh yes, once in a great while after having set for a long time I try it again and it speeds up but then dies again. Thanks again for any and all help
Jim
