I love the pic of Robert and his vintage Compact. This inspired me to post a pic of me and my 1937 filterqueen.I wwill not be atending this year. I will be atending next year as it will give me an opportunity to build my vac collection up.This baby is my favourite....check it out! Ps... I use this as one of my daily drivers.BTW, Robert...are you single??hee hee...Brad.

I love your washing machine invention! It looks like every one had a blast at the 2007 convention. I am really looking forward to next years convention and to see that unimac machine doing its thing. By chance, do you collect vintage Sumbeam Mixmasters? I have a fascination for these and I think I may start to collect them. I also have been offered( by Health mor) a new Filterqueen in trade for my 1935 filterqueen or to send them the vac and they would then appraise the value and offer me what they feel it would be worth in us dollars. So, my question to you would be, If you were in this situation what would you do?
I feel that you have done a great job of designing this forum, beacuse it helps connect people globally to share in each others fun and joy relating to the vacuum cleaner. I really appreciate being a part of this club.I have shared with some of my life long friends about "vacuumland" and they respond with a big smile on thier faces , and I can almost see the lightbulb going on above thier heads!

If it were me in your position I probably would not trade your old FQ for a new one. It's a rare machine, as everyone has stated, which clearly is why the FQ people want it.

If you ever decide you want a new FQ you can always go buy one; this may be the only original model you'll ever come across.

It's likely you will regret trading your old girl the moment the shipping carton leaves your hands. I can't tell you how many times I've suffered "seller's remorse" -- sometimes pretty intensely -- when selling off something I only had one of, or that was rare. A couple of those machines in particular, I am still smarting over my ill-advised decision to let go.

At the least, don't make a hasty decision -- think about it for a while.

Hi Brad, thank you so much, I probably will fly to Cleveland next year for the convention so I will have to buy a seat for the washer LOL. And yes I do have three Sunbeam Mixmasters that I use all the time. If you create a separate thread in either the Off-Topic Forum or the Super Forum at aw.org I can post a picture of them.

Brad something doesn't sound right with that deal, please don't do that. Your FQ is so very cool and so very rare, I would definitely keep that beautiful machine if I were you.

thanks for the feedback.I look forward to seeing the seat for the washer.hee heeee. Do you like the show bewitched? I loved that show as a child and when I was 13 I met Elizabeth Montgomery(Samantha) in her own home in Beverly hills!Wow it was like a childhood dream come true.As a child when I watched bewitched I would use my imagination and magically go into the tv and pretend I was in that episode I was watching. I had the rare opportunity to meet Elizabeth, due to my mother's friend being her governest. I also met her daughter Rebecca who is also "family", and a journalist.Elizabeth loked just like she did on tv and I had a nice visit with her.
