have you seen it at a "real" store?

Hey guys.... I am just wondering if any of you have seen the new version of the Dirt Devil Classic hand vac (the bagless one) at a bricks and mortar store? I want to buy one to compare it to the red 90's soft bagged dirt devil that I just got and I can't find one except online. I don't want to buy it online, because I'm likely not to like it and to want to return it. Returning things purchased online is too much of a hassle. I just want to compare the power and noise level to the older one... I've been to Target, Kmart, Sears, Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot, JC Penny... can't find one anywhere... if you've seen it at any store at all, please let me know so I can check the ones in my area to see of they carry it too. I'd really appreciate it! DD making this kind of reminds me of the Sunbeam Heritage Series Mixmasters... they tried to redo a classic, but it just isn't the same!

I have seen it at walmart, not sur when the last time i ve seen it though. It may be at walmart.com, Do a site to store to save on shipping and if you dont like it it goes right back to wally world...lol

Dirt Devil Hand Vac

Do you have a Target in your area. We do in Upstate, NY and they sell these. With that said, my friend Chris (Hoover28) has one of these in his shop and I went through it and serviced it. I wasn't too impressed with the suction and this machine suffers the same issues that most other China bagless vacuums have- high winding noisy motor, tiny filter that clogs easy and lots of cheap painted plastic. The metal bottom plate has thin painted on chrome that was already starting to wear off also and this machine was less than a year old when he got it from a customer. The lady ended up with one of the older and far superior red bagged Dirt Devil hand vacs that takes slide on paper bags.

I figured that the results would be like you describe... but I wanted to compare them side by side, just for fun. I have checked several targets and walmarts, but none of them have it! (
