Has anyone ever seen a Rexair CSD

Not that I would want to service one or buy an old one...

I do notice that the entire unit is dipped into "decontamination" at the end. Is this really safe to do with one of the new Rainbows? Rexaird- your reply is awaited .

I've only seen the things online. I believe this machine is special order for those customers only, and I can't even get my hands on any literature.

You don't dip the entire machine in the water, just the lower half of the machine with the separator and HEPA filter removed as I understand it. The motor is a sealed bypass design, so nothing will get blown or sucked into the upper half of the machine where the electronics are as long as you don't set it in too deep of water. I'd like to get my hands on one, or at least a set of yellow housings and the side labels and make my own just to have one in that color. But so far no luck in getting one.

I just saw this again, they did indeed dip the entire machine in the water. I have no idea what they changed inside the machine, as you can't do this with a regular brushless motor E Series.

What gets me is the voice-over is probably the most standardized corporate safety video sounding voices I've ever heard. A buddy of mine is with Aftermath, so I will see if they are using the Rainbow..err..Rexair machines

Can anyone see anything difference from an E series besides its being yellow? It looks like they put Clorox in a yellow Rainbow and called it the CSD.

Never heard of that one..the csd. But i gotta say ive been wanting to try an e series for some time now....a month or so worth of use for testing.....but any diff in overall power and cleaning to seperate them....im very curious on this one.

It was easy i just used the thread search function.

Yeah that video and a picture of the website is the only pictures/videos of the CSD that i know of.

I assume it was sold to people who need it to clean up hazardous stuff like after a murder scene. I remember someone said that they seen one in use by the military or something.

Funny how someone says that the machine cannot be dipped in water or solution due to the electronics, but just an FYI the boards are coated with a special epoxy material to prevent anything from happening to them if in the event they do indeed get wet. I wash boards all of the time with no issues even on stereo equipment. as long as the unit has time to dry or the electronics are blown completely dry, there will be no issues.
